It is hereby proclaimed as follows:-

1.

This Proclamation may be cited as the Gazette Proclamation, 194.

2. A publication to be known as the British Military Administration (Hong Kong) Gazette snall be issued from time to time and snall contain all Proclamations,

3.(1) The production of a copy of the Gazette containing any Proclamation shall be prima facie evidence in all Courts and for all purposes of the due making and contents of such Proclamation.

(2) All acts of state, whether legislative or executive, and all appointments, directions, nominations, notices, notifications, orders, regulations, rules or by-laws, or other official communications of the military administration appearing in the Gazette may be proved by production of a copy of the Gazette in which the same appear.

4.

The authority issuing a Proclamation snall cause the same to be published as soon as possible in such manner as he thinks necessary for bringing it to the notice of all persons who, in his opinion, ought to nave notice of the Proclamation.

Validity of Proclamations etc. published otherwise than in Gazette.

General Officer Commanding Military Forces, Malaya, exercise of the authority conferred on me by the Supreme Allied Commander, South East Asia Command, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM AND ORDER

1.

This Proclamation may be cited as the Gazettes Proclamation.

2. A publication, to be known as the British Military Administration Gazette, may be issued from time to time and shall contain all Proclamations and such rules, orders, regulations, notices and other matters as it may be necessary or desirable to publish therein:

Provided that if and when Malaya is divided into two administrative Divisions, a separate Gazette may be published for cach such Division.

3.

The production of a copy of the relevant Gazette containing any Proclamation, rule, order,regulation or notice shall be prima facie evidence in all Courts for all purposes of the due making and contents thereof.

4 11 persons in any part of Malaya, or in any administrative Division thereof to which any such Gazette purports to apply, shall be deemed to have notice of the documents therein published.

5.

In case of any discrepancy between the English text of any such Gazette and any translation thereof, the English text shall prevail.

6.

Nothing herein affects the validity or effectiveness of any Proclamation,rulo,order, regulation, notice or direction issued by, or under the authority of, the British Military Administration, Malaya, published, posted or promulgated otherwise than as herein prescribed.
